This Could Be Anytown

"News of the plague was disturbing, like something out of a bad horror film. The dead were walking around eating the living. Most of us thought for sure this meant the infected were simply aggressive until the disease had killed their bodies. That was until we saw the first of them here. I will never forget her. She was missing more of her body than any of us could account for, yet she kept dragging herself towards us, gnashing her teeth all the while. I was the first to shake it off, I crushed her head with my boot. But she was not alone. How come they are never alone?"
