Temporary Power Restoration

Attention Lewiston Area.

In light of the crisis situation our crew has been able to isolate much of the city from the national grid. We have restarted supply of energy from the Upper Androscoggin facility which will hopefully allow the medical facilities to maintain their systems. We have overridden the manual controls which could lead to this plant shutting down - it is a risky move but in light of the need for us to find safety we thought it in the best interest of the community. The river is flowing quite well so we should be able to support most of the essential services of the core of our city. Please use electricity sparingly. Our best guess is that a team will need to revisit this site in month to reset things. At that time the military should be able to offer assistance.

Until then please seek shelter and be safe. Our team at the plant includes Rob Deagan, Steven Priest, Lee Seems, and myself. The military has asked us to be prepared for airlift out of here within the hour. If any of our families are reading this we are doing our part, keep safe and we will return to get you as soon as they let us.

If You Are Reading This

If you are reading this then the chances are you are alive. We are not sure how long we can find internet services, probably as long as the power is up on some of the government installations. We are moving from house to house outside of Lewiston, Maine. Stay away from the hospitals, they were the first places to fall. They may be still some of the only places with power and a signal, but they are not safe. If you want to be found leave us a message. I pray that we will find your message and get to you in time. Be careful of the sick and dying, leave nothing to chance. They are relentless when they come back. We will make it through this somehow. God help us all.

p.s. we have been marking the houses we are staying in with a green shirt hanging from the front door.

Is Anybody Out There?

In the Lewiston, ME area. Driving squad car 613. I haven't been able to raise anyone on the radio. It is really bad out there. I cannot get anywhere near the station right now. Heading over to the high school to see if survivors made it there. Sitting outside Saint Mary's Medical Center, the hospitals are really bad. I cannot stay long, my sat comm comes and goes, police services are down. I'm not far from the high school now, if I have a signal I'll let you know if this is a good rendezvous point. Low on ammo too. I need backup. Is anybody there?

This Could Be Anytown

"News of the plague was disturbing, like something out of a bad horror film. The dead were walking around eating the living. Most of us thought for sure this meant the infected were simply aggressive until the disease had killed their bodies. That was until we saw the first of them here. I will never forget her. She was missing more of her body than any of us could account for, yet she kept dragging herself towards us, gnashing her teeth all the while. I was the first to shake it off, I crushed her head with my boot. But she was not alone. How come they are never alone?"
